Two suspected terrorists were taken into custody by Punjab Police on Tuesday, along with a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) that was meant for a "targeted terror attack."
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav wrote on X, "In an intelligence-based operation, Amritsar rural police, in close coordination with central agencies, apprehend two terror operatives, Mehakdeep Singh @ Mehak and Aditya @ Adhi, from Amritsar and recover one rocket propelled grenade (RPG)."
"The accused were in contact with Harpreet Singh @ Vicky, who is currently incarcerated in Ferozepur Jail, and with the Pakistani ISI agent who sent the weapon, according to preliminary investigation," he stated.
The RPG was designed for a "targeted terror attack," according to the DGP.
"A first information report, or FIR, has been filed at Amritsar's Gharinda police station. To uncover the complete network, more research is being done," he stated.
The head of Punjab Police reaffirmed the force's determination to destroy international terror and organised crime networks that are supported by Pakistan's ISI.
On October 18, while conducting a search operation in the Ferozepur district near Tindiwala village, Punjab Police, along with the Border Security Force (BSF), found a packet of heroin.
