"India will test hydrogen buses and trucks on ten roads; partners include Reliance, Tata, and NTPC," Nitin Gadkari said.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced on Thursday that India will test hydrogen-powered buses and trucks on ten routes nationwide. He added that significant corporations including Reliance Industries, Tata Group, NTPC, and Ashok Leyland have joined the project.

We have started a pilot project that will see the introduction of hydrogen buses and trucks on ten Indian roadways. For this, Reliance, Tata, NTPC, Ashok Leyland, and numerous more have partnered with us. We've begun producing hydrogen," Gadkari declared.In addition to Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, the minister was speaking at the launch of Maruti Suzuki's WagonR Flex Fuel in New Delhi.
Citing the nation's advancements in ethanol, hydrogen, and sustainable aviation fuel, Gadkari claimed that India now has the capacity to go from an energy-importing to an energy-exporting economy.

"We now have the potential to go from an energy importing nation to an energy exporting nation," he stated.
According to Gadkari, India is now producing 78,000 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel annually and has the potential to become a net exporter of SAF in two years. The government plans to eventually operate helicopters and fighter jets on SAF, he continued.We will begin developing sustainable aviation fuel after ethanol. We want our helicopters and fighter jets to operate on SAF.
