Amid the rising tension between India and Pakistan following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which saw 26 civilians lose their lives, the ongoing edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Pakistan is likely to be suspended.
In response to the development, the Indian armed forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under 'Operation Sindoor'.
As per reports, the armed forces struck nine terror targets in Pakistan and PoK, including the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold of Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba's base in Muridke.
As per reports in some sections of media, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials are scheduled to meet with the Ministry of Interior to assess the situation and its potential impact on the tournament.
Amid rising tension of security and the closure of airspace, the logistical difficulties in hosting games have increased.
Under the circumstances, there is an increasing possibility that the PSL matches may be postponed.
As per reports, PCB is also contemplating the decision to relocate the ongoing PSL season to Dubai and Doha. On the other hand, Karachi is also being considered an option to host the remainder of the games, which were originally scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi, Multan and Lahore.
