Live updates on the Afghanistan-Pakistan conflict: Both countries will meet in Qatar to discuss a ceasefire

"Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and intelligence chief General Asim Malik will be heading to Doha today for talks with the Afghan Taliban," a statement on state-run television said.Subsequent airstrikes were launched shortly after the initial raids, targeting residential residences. Three cricket players from Afghanistan were slain.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) reported the deaths of three local Afghan cricket players from Paktika Province's Urgun District. After playing a friendly game at Sharana, the players had returned.

The ACB declared on Saturday that it would not be participating in the forthcoming Tri-Nation T20I series against Pakistan, expressing sorrow over the cricket players' deaths.

"Three players—Kabeer, Sibghatullah, and Haroon—as well as five other Urgun District citizens were martyred and seven others were wounded in this tragic event. In order to play a friendly cricket match, the players had already travelled to Sharana, the provincial capital of Paktika. They were attacked at a gathering when they got back to Urgun," the ACB said in its statement.
