Odisha starts its statewide door-to-door digital census.

Odisha's statewide door-to-door digital census, a significant administrative initiative to gather thorough demographic data, began on Thursday. Authorities will send a sizable personnel to ensure efficient and accurate data collecting throughout regions during the program, which will run until May 15.
To complete the enumeration procedure, almost 90,000 officials have been tasked with collecting information by going door to door. 15,140 supervisors have been assigned to manage the operation. High school teachers are assigned as supervisors, and primary school teachers are serving as census officials.

Coverage and Enumeration Procedure
The task assigned to each census official is to gather information on about 800 people. An official will often visit 150 to 200 residences in a single month. In addition to counting homes, inspectors will number each home and speak with the head of each household.
During the procedure, a set of 33 questions will be asked about things like food habits, the materials used to build a house, and whether or not a two-wheeler or four-wheeler is owned.
Phase of Mapping and Digital Data Gathering
Officials have been allowed three days to map their designated locations, comprehend the surroundings, and count the number of homes and families before the full-scale census starts. This round of preparation will last until April 18.After mapping is finished, the actual census procedure will start on April 19. To ensure efficient processing and administrative accessibility, all gathered data will be digitally captured and preserved.
