On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for giving young and inexperienced lawmakers a chance to address the legislature.
In a speech before to the start of Parliament's winter session on December 1, Prime Minister Modi expressed the "biggest" concern he has had for a long time: the lack of opportunities for young MPs to speak in the House.
"Young and inexperienced MPs are really disappointed that they are not given the chance to showcase their skills and discuss their constituencies. They are being prevented from expressing their ideas in order to contribute to the advancement of the country," PM Modi stated.
PM Modi demanded that new Members of Parliament be given the opportunity to speak in Parliament, regardless of their party affiliation. PM Modi later remarked, "There are many places to do 'drama'; there is space for that - but not here," in a subtle jab at the opposition.
PM Modi further mocked the opposition by claiming that the Parliament has historically been used "either for election warm-up or to vent frustration over defeat."
They should now reevaluate the strategy they have been using for the past ten years, which the nation finds unacceptable. At the very least, they ought to alter their approaches and tactics.
PM Modi stated, "I am prepared to offer them advice on how they should perform, but at the very least, do not disregard the rights of MPs." His comments were made just weeks after the Opposition INDIA alliance was severely damaged after the NDA won a resounding majority in Bihar.
Monday marks the start of Parliament's winter session, which will end on December 19.
The Opposition is anticipated to bring up the topic of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and the concerning pollution levels in Delhi during the session, and about 14 bills are anticipated to be presented during this time.
The opposition has long opposed the SIR exercise, which is presently taking place in a number of states and union territories nationwide.Additionally, Delhi's pollution levels have been rising; for the past two weeks, the Air Quality Index (AQI) has been in the "very poor" to "severe" range.
