PM Modi visiting the Ayodhya Ram temple: "Centuries-old wounds are healing"

As he ceremoniously raised the saffron Dharma flag atop the recently constructed Ram temple in Ayodhya on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the "wounds and pain of centuries are healing today." PM Modi described the event as the realization of a 500-year-old resolve, saying that the flag represented the victory of truth and righteousness and symbolized Lord Ram's principles.
During the unique Abhijit Muhurat, which is considered an auspicious constellation by Hindus, PM Modi raised a 10x20-foot triangular flag alongside RSS president Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh governor Anandiben Patel, and chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
The prime minister described the flag, which features the dazzling Sun, the holy "Om," and the Kovidara tree, as a symbol of awakening, devotion, and centuries of teamwork.

The prime minister stated in his speech that the flag would act as a "symbol of resolve," leading people on a journey of awakening and commitment. According to him, it is the realization of societal aspirations that have been "passed down through centuries" and made possible by the penance and efforts of saints. He declared, "This is the Dharma flag, proclaiming the ideals of Lord Ram to the world," adding that it represented the timeless principles of righteousness and truth.
In addition, PM Modi cited Satyameva Jayate, stressing that "truth alone triumphs, not falsehood," and declared that the flag will motivate people to honor their commitments "even if it costs us our lives." He claimed that the flag's raising reaffirmed the victory of Dharma and truth as well as the necessity of sticking to one's moral convictions.
