SIR in Odisha since April 1, 90% of the work is already done.

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Odisha's electoral records will begin on April 1, the State Chief Electoral Officer stated on Friday, with the goal of ensuring a clean and accurate voter list ahead of future elections.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer, over 90% of the voter list revisions in the state have already been completed. Of the remaining 10%, at least 8% is expected to be fixed soon, while officials are working to achieve a complete correction of the electoral rolls.
Corrections Based on the 2002 Electoral Records
The ongoing revision will include revisions based on the 2002 electoral roll records.Officials stated that if a voter can identify the booth number where they voted in 2002, their information will be reviewed and modified accordingly.This approach is expected to assist streamline the process and simplify verification for election officials.
Complete, Clean, and Transparent Voter Enrolment System
In circumstances where voters do not have any paperwork or data about their previous voter registration, they will be given Form No. 11, which allows them to request changes or updates to the voter list.
The Chief Electoral Officer stressed that the major goal of the activity is to create a thoroughly clean and transparent voter registration system.He also emphasized that if a person's name appears on the voter list more than once, they must only save it in one place. Maintaining voter registration in two or more locations will be considered a serious offense, he added.
Election officials are continuing their revision efforts to guarantee that the electoral roll is up to date and free of duplication before the next election cycle.
