The administration of Srimandir postpones the reopening of Gundicha Temple to worshipers on December 1.

The plan to restore the Gundicha Temple to the public on December 1st has been temporarily postponed. After examining urgent reports from the Senior Supervisor and Additional Chief Engineer, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) postponed the proposal in consideration of the devotees' safety.
A thorough examination of Gundicha Temple was carried out a few days ago in accordance with the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee's suggestions. SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee had already said that the temple would open to pilgrims on December 1 following the inspection.

But according to the Additional Chief Engineer, additional time is needed for the temple's ongoing conservation and restoration projects.

In a similar vein, the Senior Supervisor has emphasized that in order to guarantee the safety of visiting devotees, the temple gardens and adjacent areas require immediate cleaning and development.
Authorities have chosen to postpone the reopening plan until all required maintenance and repairs are finished in light of these worries.
After ongoing construction is finished, a reopening date for the Gundicha Temple will be announced.
Notably, due to maintenance, structural issues, and administrative choices, the Gundicha Temple has been off-limits to devotees for the past six years.
