The CEO of Vodafone Idea said the business will choose to make a small rate adjustment rather than a structural increase.

New Delhi: According to a senior business executive on Friday, telecom provider Vodafone Idea will choose to make small adjustments to the current mobile price but does not currently have plans to raise rates generally.
On the sidelines of the COAI Digicom Summit 2026, Vodafone Idea CEO Abhijit Kishore stated, "Minor corrections will be there but not a structural hike as you generally see." Bharti Airtel recently raised the prepaid mobile recharge plan by about 4-5%, and analysts predict that telecom operators may raise tariffs by about 15% in the first half of this year.

He claimed that the company is concentrating on enhancing performance and that the government has shown trust in it as a major stakeholder.
"We truly appreciate that the government is a 49% stakeholder. As you can see from the subscriber initiative, we are working toward what we should be doing, which is essentially enhancing the performance. Our earlier reports from February and March are available to the public," Kishore stated.

In February and March, the company's subscriber base improved after declining over the previous few years.
According to the most recent Trai report, Vi added more than 1 lakh mobile subscribers in March.
