Rivaba Jadeja, wife of cricket player Ravindra Jadeja, is one of 26 ministers in the new Gujarat government, which was declared by the BJP-led government on Friday. This comes only a day after the entire cabinet—with the exception of chief minister Bhupendra Patel—resigned.In addition to Rivaba Jadeja, the new cabinet now includes Swaroopji Thakor, Pravenkumar Mali, Rushikesh Patel, Darshna Waghela, Kunvarji Bavaliya, Arjun Modhwadia, Parshottam Solanki, Jitendra Waghani, Praful Pansheriya, Harsh Sanghvi, and Kanubhai Desai.
In order to give the chief minister and the party leadership more time for what one party leader has called a "strategic reset" in front of the local body elections and the 2027 state assembly election, a senior BJP source stated that the ministers were instructed to tender their resignations by Thursday afternoon.The chief minister met with the ministers following their resignation on Thursday, according to party sources, who also stated that the ministers have begun leaving their positions.Six ministers of state, two ministers of state (independent charge), and eight cabinet-rank ministers made up Patel's now-former council of ministers.
