This is how the government intends to turn the Northeast into "Ashtalakshmi" for the globe, from Mizo ginger to coffee from Nagaland.

Jyotiraditya Scindia explained how each region contributes a particular personality to the world, highlighting the Northeast states' unique qualities. He highlighted how these flagship missions are bringing the region's native strengths to international markets by citing programs like the Mizo Ginger Mission, Naga Coffee Mission, Arunachal Kiwi Mission, Assam Muga Silk Senehjori Mission, Tripura Queen Pineapple Mission, Sikkim Organic Food Mission, Manipur Polo, and Meghalaya Lakadong Turmeric.

Mizoram
According to officials, the Center has started the Mizoram Ginger Mission, a ₹189.79 crore convergence-led project aimed at developing the state's value chain and cultivating ginger. Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma jointly introduced the project virtually.The Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER) will oversee its implementation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's emphasis on making farmers important players in the agricultural value chain, "from farm to fork," was emphasised by Scindia.
Assam
Mission Muga Silk "Senehjori," a ₹411 crore project to revitalise Assam's renowned Muga silk industry, was virtually introduced by Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. More than 2.5 lakh weavers and business owners involved in Muga silk production are anticipated to benefit from the project. According to Scindia, it is a step toward strengthening Assam's "golden thread," enhancing quality, value addition, and competitiveness internationally. The mission's goal, he stated, is to transport Muga silk "from farm gate to foreign shore."

Arunachal 

Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Union DoNER Minister for Arunachal Pradesh, introduced the Arunachal Kiwi Mission, a cluster-based program designed to improve the state's value chain development, marketing, production, and cultivation of kiwis. NABARD, ICAR-CITH, APEDA, NERAMAC, and private investors are just a few of the ministries and organisations that have contributed to the DoNER Ministry's convergence-led program, which has a budget of approximately ₹167 crore.

Nagaland
As part of larger Northeast agricultural activities, Nagaland Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced a mission centred on kiwi cultivation with the goal of enhancing production and value chain development in Nagaland. In order to increase output, marketing, and farmer incomes, the program uses a convergence-led strategy that unites government ministries, agricultural institutions, and private partners.

Sikkim
Sikkim is an example for organic farming, sustainable development, and environmentally friendly growth, according to the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (MDoNER), which announced financial support for the state. According to Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia's message, Sikkim has become a model for organic farming, responsible tourism, and ecological stewardship under the Center's Act East mission.
 Tripura
Launched in New Delhi, the Mission Queen Pineapple, Tripura is a three-year, ₹236 crore transformative project. State Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, and Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia jointly opened the project.According to Nath, over 70% of Tripura's land area is made up of hills and hillocks known locally as "Tilla," with the other 30% being made up of plain land.
Meghalaya: As part of larger initiatives to support native agricultural goods from the Northeast, the Meghalaya Lakadong Turmeric program emphasises the promotion and value chain development of the state's high-curcumin turmeric type.

The goal of the mission is to improve Lakadong turmeric's cultivation, processing, branding, and market access. Lakadong turmeric is well-known for its high quality and therapeutic value, and this will help farmers make more money and increase its market share both domestically and internationally.
