"Try Saying No To Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma": If Gautam Gambhir is fired, the BCCI warns of disaster

Munaf Patel, a former pacer for India, has threatened the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) with "consequences" if it fires head coach Gautam Gambhir. After the 2024 T20 World Cup victory, the former India opener assumed the prominent role, succeeding Rahul Dravid. Gambhir has produced a mixed bag of results during his nearly two-year stint, and he is also accused of pressuring talismans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to quit from Test cricket.
The Indian team's struggles in Test cricket during a transitional period have sparked calls for Gambhir's dismissal, despite the fact that he has already won three significant awards during his tenure as manager: the Champions Trophy, Asia Cup, and T20 World Cup.

Munaf Patel, a member of the 2011 World Cup-winning team, has defended his former comrade in the face of mounting criticism, cautioning that Gambhir's removal could have disastrous consequences.Just keep in mind that managing the players will become extremely challenging if a head coach like Gautam Gambhir is fired. He is a sincere individual who speaks the truth, which many people find objectionable. Everyone is aware that he has the guts to let go of a player if things don't work out," Munaf told the Times of India.
The former pacer added that Gambhir's tendency to "speak the truth" has inevitably made him an enemy in the cricket community."The most crucial aspect is man-management. It's also not simple. To someone like Virat Kohli, try saying no. Try declining Rohit Sharma's request. He said, "Tell me, how many people is Gautam Gambhir making enemies of just to coach the country?"
Munaf is currently coaching the Delhi Capitals' bowling during the current Indian Premier League season. With four points in as many games, DC is now in fifth place.
